Getting Back Into Google
If you read my previous post about being dropped by Google, here’s some good news. Â My pages are back in their rightful place in the search results.
It took Google about 5 or 6 days to respond to my request for reconsideration. Â They claim that it can take several weeks, but I guess they say that to cover themselves.
After I received the message saying that they had processed my request, I could see from Google Webmaster Tools that Googlebot had deep-indexed my site (ie visited almost every page).
The next morning, my pages were back in the results pages.
So all credit to Google for processing it fairly quickly. Â I understand why they dropped the pages, and having cleaned them up, they are quite happy to include them again.
So if your site is dropped by Google, work out why, fix it, and submit a request for reconsideration. Â As long as your pages comply with Google’s guidelines, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting them back in.
If it does happen, to submit your site for reconsideration, you’ll need to sign up and log in to Google Webmaster Tools. Â If you’re not using those tools already, you ought to be.
